Just because the sun goes down doesn’t mean the resort stops buzzing as Big White Ski Resort features western Canada’s largest lit night skiing area. If you’re looking for après activities, try a guided dog sled ride, or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage experience, skate under the stars on Canada’s highest skating rink or go tubing in Canada’s largest tube park.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite head over to one of the 20 plus restaurants and eateries to get what you need. Try a Gunbarrel coffee at the Gunbarrel Grill, or tackle the world-famous 50oz Tomahawk steak at the Kettle Valley Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

Top tip: One of the things I hear all the time is how much parents like our unique “Accommodation Pick Up Service” for kids registered in Ski School programs. Dog Sled Tours

Open your eyes to the beauty of Big White’s pristine back country with a dog sled tour. This is an experience like no other!
Your tour will begin with an orientation introducing you to the dogs, the sled, and the harnessing process before heading out on the trails for an unforgettable winter experience.


Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides

Try a traditional Canadian Sleigh Ride through the wilderness and winter’s landscape covered in deep snow. Cozy up under a blanket and take a step back in time with a ride on an old fashioned horse drawn sleigh. Enjoy hot chocolate while gliding through snow covered forest trails on a daylight or evening tour. All ages are welcome, making this the perfect family activity.


Skating

Rent some skates and test your hockey skills on one of two fantastic outdoor ponds. If you’re not a hockey player there is plenty of room for you and your whole family to enjoy the rink with a leisurely skate.


Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is an exciting way to explore Big White’s backcountry. Enjoy the stunning scenery and open untouched snow fields. Suited to all ability levels. Drive your own snowmobile or double up with a friend.


Snowshoe Tours

A great way to enjoy the outdoors with the whole family. Suited to all ages and ability levels. Explore Head into the backcountry and explore a variety of trails, frozen lakes, meadows and the views of the Thompson Nicola region.


Tubing

Jump in a tube and speed downhill on North America’s largest resort tubing park. Located in Happy Valley you’re just a short gondola ride from the Village Centre. With friends or by yourself, this exciting ride should not to be missed during your stay on the mountain.


SXS – Side by Side ATV Tour

Explore Big White’s backcountry in an SXS – Side by Side all-terrain vehicle with snow tracks. An exciting and safe way to explore the backcountry, a perfect mix of easy riding and stunning scenery. Ideal for thrill seekers, first timers, and families


Winter Festivities and Events

There is plenty to keep you entertained with an action-packed calendar of festivities and events from opening day and Christmas celebrations, carnivals and fireworks. A perfect way to explore the best of Big White is the family friendly Cruz the Blues event where you can take the challenge to ski as many blue runs as you can in two days!


Ice Hockey Games

Known for their gritty, Canadian hockey style,the Kelowna Rockets’ games are a fun time for all. Catch the bus from Big White Resort down to the Arena in Kelowna, and back to the resort after the game.


Elevation 57 Brewing Tour

Get a behind the scenes, look at the operation and try the latest creations from Brandon Amond, world-trained head brewer.

Getting There

Big White Ski Resort is located 56 km southeast of Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan Valley, central British Columbia,

The closest airport is Kelowna’s International Airport and then it is just a short transfer or drive (50 minutes) to reach the resort.

About Big White Snow Sports Training Camps

With 10 years’ experience in athlete training with NZ and Australian kids, the Big White Ski and Board School has been the training ground for former and current Olympians and World Champions.

The training camps at Big White cater to the level of each competitor – from entry level to seasoned competitor. If your young athlete is training for ski racing or looking to take skiing or riding to the next level, then the Ski & Board School at Big White Resort offers comprehensive race and/or freestyle training programs. These programmes are a great way for young children to develop their passion for snow sports and for older athletes to challenge themselves and prepare for the slopes in a fun and progressive environment. The training programmes provide exclusive access to skier/snowboard cross course training courses, Telus park terrain to develop freestyle skills and even a purpose built moguls course!

Programmes take place at Big White Ski Resort and use world-class terrain with video training and assessment. Athletes are coached by specialist instructors who use their extensive experience to provide racers or freestylers with all the tools they will need to maximise improvement combing the best practices in coaching and training from around the world.

There are a variety programmes available for different age groups and ability levels with a choice of week long or weekend training options. Families can also share the experience with special Parents Coaching Programmes while their kids are in training. In addition, participants can specialise across a range of disciplines including: Snowboard Giant Slalom and Alpine Giant Slalom, Skier Cross, Snowboard Cross, 
Moguls, Slope-Style/Terrain Park, All Terrain Technical Skills & Cross Training.

Courses typically include:
